In today’s blog post I just wrap-up some great links to motivational sources I read lately and as I know how hard it can be to keep up the passion and commitment over a long period of time without a little “fuel” once in a while I wanted to share it with you.
- Steve Jobs: “How to live before you die“
- William Deresiewicz: “Solitude and Leadership“
- Mark Finnern: “Focus on Passion: 10 Tips for an Engaging Community“
- Sascha Kiefer: “Do you need passion for your job?“

I specifically like Steve’s talk.
The first time I saw it, I was deeply impressed. From this time on it was my favourite recommendation for people interested this whole “passion” and “how to live my live” topic. I always refer to it as “Connect the dots”: http://simplicity-old.sascha-kiefer.de/2008/07/13/connect-the-dots/ ;-) (behind the connect the dots paradigm there lies an interesting psychological patter, thoug, we might discouss about once…)
This talk perfectly covers the way I see my professional live. A lot of people pick a job they think it brings a lot of money.
I always took it from the other side. I think you should do what you love for living. If you do that you do a good job. And if you do a good youb you propably become successful and then you might earn enough money (and if not, so what, at least you do what you love).
You also can have a look at the vita of Michael Poliza. He is a good example for this way of living as well. And he survived a couple of crises in live with this view.
